History of the Tri-State Family YMCA

The Tri-State Family YMCA includes 3 branches, the Neosho Freeman Family YMCA in Neosho, MO, the Grand Lake Family YMCA in Grove, OK and the Northwest Arkansas Family Mercy YMCA in Rogers, Arkansas. The corporate headquarters is located in Neosho, MO.

Tri-State Family YMCA, organized as an Association in 2011, began as a YMCA store front operation, established in 1996 in a former library in Neosho, MO, and has grown to 3 facilities, serving more than 10,000 members and community program participants. The annual operating budget is over $2,500,000 per year. Programs and services offered include: Youth and Family Services, Child Care, Preschools in Neosho and Rogers, Youth and Adult Sports, Aquatics, and Health and Wellness, and many special events in the communities we serve.

The Neosho Freeman Family YMCA in Neosho, MO serves Newton and McDonald Counties in Missouri and includes a facility of 42,000 square feet on 22 acres of land, an outdoor playground, and sports fields. Indoor facilities include a fitness center with cardiovascular equipment, a complete strength training circuit and free weights, a 6 lane indoor lap pool with attached leisure and family area, 2 racquetball courts, youth and family game room, gymnasium, preschool, child watch, 3 locker rooms, and a fitness studio.

Grand Lake Family YMCA in Grove, OK began as a store front YMCA, and is now operating in a larger facility with a fitness center equipped with modern cardiovascular and strength training equipment, a fitness studio, and child watch area. School Age Child Care is provided, and located in the Grove Elementary School. Summer Day Camp, Summer Aquatics, Youth Sports, and Adult Sports programming are offered, using community facilities. The new, larger facility and grounds are providing the impetus for expanded services and programming.

The Northwest Arkansas Mercy Family YMCA is a 43,000 square foot facility offering full complement of cardiovascular and strength training equipment, fitness studio, youth activity center, child watch, basketball and racquet ball courts, Preschool, on-site After School programs, community meeting rooms, outdoor activity areas, walking/jogging track. Community health and wellness outreach is an integral part of our mission: Diabetes Prevention Program and Livestrong Cancer Survivor Support Group.
